"Thank you, Chelsea! To everyone who put up a sign, donated, shared advice, stopped to talk about this awesome place we call home, or just took the time to wish me well—thank you! Your support and encouragement mean the world to me. I am excited to keep working with you and for you!"

Chelsea’s dedicated elected officials and wonderful city staff can’t maintain our special community and meet its changing needs by themselves. Partnerships between the City, the Chelsea School District, local non-profits, Chelsea area businesses, and dedicated citizens are required for a city of Chelsea’s size to be all that we want it to be. Sam Angus has spent the last decade facilitating collaboration in classrooms, at the track and on fields and trails, at open gyms, in support of our incredible music and arts scene, at the pools, and in board rooms across town. Sam is ready to continue the work of our current mayor and Council in supporting partnerships and collaborations to manage growth, seize opportunities, and enhance our community.

Parks & Rec

More than seven years ago, Sam became a member of the City of Chelsea's Park & Rec Commission. The Angus family is a family of runners, and they moved to Chelsea partially because of all of the amazing trails and parks. It was natural that Sam’s first foray into community service and government would be on Parks and Rec. Sam is now the longest-serving member of Parks & Rec, and a valuable resource for new Commissioners, as well as City staff, members of City Council, and the community at large.

Team Angus

Sam has been a part of many teams here in Chelsea, from Middle School Cross Country to the Chelsea Aquatic Center Commission, but the most important team is his family … the steering committee of Team Angus. They have worked together to spread mulch and assemble playground equipment at TimberTown, set up for open gyms at the WSEC, help organize elementary school cross country meets, prepare for Chelsea House Orchestra shows, and stage floats in some of Chelsea’s parades. Now they are working together to help Sam get elected to City Council, and they would like you to join Team Angus!
